The Center for Workplace Mental Health and the APA Foundation is proud to announce the selection of its’ new Director, Darcy Gruttadaro.
Darcy comes to us from the National Alliance on Mental Illness (NAMI) where she served in various roles, leading their strategic initiatives in promoting early intervention, promoting access to effective mental health care and raising broader public awareness and understanding of mental health conditions.
As the director of Policy at NAMI, Darcy led a multi-team project to expand research-based psychosis programs in states across the country. Darcy focused strategically on ensuring adequate and equitable healthcare coverage which included developing resources on mental health parity and mental health care coverage. In addition, she led projects that involved working with commercial health insurers, CMS and employers to secure insurance coverage for research-based care.
During Darcy’s tenure at NAMI, she was the primary author of multiple publications including:
- Starting the Conversation: College and Your Mental Health
- Engagement: A New Standard for Mental Health Care
- First Episode Psychosis: A Guide to State Expansion
Darcy has a deep commitment to mental health and sees the criticality of employers acknowledging and embracing its’ importance in their workplaces.
Darcy earned her Juris Doctor Degree from Western New England College of Law.
