The COVID-19 pandemic has profoundly impacted frontline healthcare workers, with many experiencing crisis level rates of stress, burnout, anxiety, depression, suicidality, trauma, and substance use. Unfortunately, healthcare workers are not accessing the mental health care they need when they need it.
Frontline Connect is designed to provide leaders of hospitals and health systems with high impact tools and resources to improve access to mental health services and supports for the healthcare workforce.
The four core components of Frontline Connect are the following:
- Convening experts to discuss improving access to mental health care
- Leveraging the power of innovation
- Developing high-impact tools for implementing best practices
- Engaging national partners on dissemination and implementation
Leaders are well positioned to make the commitment to improve the mental health and well-being of frontline healthcare workers.
Frontline Connect: Mental Health for the Healthcare Workforce is made possible by the Brave of Heart Fund, founded by the Foundations of New York Life and Cigna and administered by E4E Relief. Originally dedicated to providing financial support in the form of charitable relief grants and emotional support services to help families of healthcare workers who lost their lives to COVID-10. Today, the focus of the Brave of Heart fund is to support nonprofits aligned with the spirit and intent of the fund’s core purposes and APAF has been selected for a grant.
